Setting up APM for Asset Health Monitoring

Before you can begin analyzing asset health, you must define administration settings and optionally set up scheduled actions to generate asset health reports. This topic explains the steps for setting up APM.

Defining Asset Health Policies

Policies are defined for asset health monitoring to highlight changes from one asset health reading to another. These policies determine the thresholds for increases and decreases in the viability of an asset’s health. For more information, see Assigning Asset Health Policies.

Defining Calculation Settings

APM allows you to set up calculation groups and classifications for the purpose of arranging and filtering asset health calculations. For more information, see Setting up Calculation Groups and Classifications.

Defining Report Settings

Asset health report settings must be defined to determine the behavior of asset health reports based on certain activities.
Assignment rules can be assigned to a report status so that it is pre- determined what is allowed to occur with an asset health report with each status.
APM allows you to set up report types, groups, and classifications for the purpose of arranging and filtering asset health reports.

Defining Calculation Conditions

Asset health calculations must be set up to determine the condition of an asset at the time of the reading. For more information, see Creating an Asset Health Calculation Condition.
