Concepts Tasks Settings Asset Health Glossary The following terms are used throughout the AHI topics. For a full glossary of APM terms, see Glossary. Term Definition Asset Health Asset An asset health report references assets in the physical asset hierarchy. Manually selected asset health assets can be set to active or inactive status to determine whether they will be considered in an asset health report calculation. An audit history exists for all asset health assets. Asset Health Calculation Asset health calculations are reusable calculations with the purpose of selecting assets for asset health monitoring and determining their indexes. These calculations can be simple or complex, and they support the use of limits, weighting, and factor tables. Each asset health calculation can include multiple calculation variables. The result of an asset health calculation is an asset health index. Asset Health Calculation Classification You can define calculation classifications according to the needs of your organization and then apply the classifications for the purpose of grouping and filtering them. Assigning asset health calculation classifications is optional. Asset Health Calculation Condition Calculation conditions denote the health status of an asset at the time of a reading. Calculation states use these conditions when determining the health of an asset. Examples of asset health conditions include excellent, good, fair, and bad. Each condition can also be assigned colors for a visual cue in tables and charts. Asset Health Calculation Groups You can define calculation groups according to the needs of your organization and then apply the groups for the purpose of grouping and filtering them. For example, you can create a group for all pump-related calculations. Assigning asset health calculation groups is optional. Asset Health Calculation Variables Calculation variables are used in asset health report calculations and can be derived from four sources. These sources are: • Calculation • Filter • Global variable • Join path Asset Health Index An asset health index is a numerical score assigned to an asset or a group of assets as a result of asset health calculations. An asset health index value generally ranges between zero and 100, in which higher index ratings denoting increased asset health. For example, a pump might have an asset health index of 37 (poor) based on the fact that it has received five maintenance work orders in the past year and is greater than seven years old. Asset Health Report An asset health report displays the results of the asset health calculations presented in the form of an online document. These reports can be generated either manually or automatically based on a recurrence pattern. Asset Health Report Classification You can define classifications according to the needs of your organization and then apply the classifications to reports for the purpose of grouping and filtering them. Assigning asset health report classifications is optional. Asset Health Report Definition An asset health report definition specifies the selection criteria for assets included in the report, the calculations to apply to the assets in order to produce readings and asset health indexes, and the frequency with which the report is generated. Asset Health Report Event An asset health report events are used to determine the status of an asset health report. For example, when an event such as an asset health report is created, it can automatically be assigned a status of “Draft”. In another example, if an asset health report is marked as completed, it can automatically be assigned a status of “Published’. Examples of events are “Sent for approval”, “Approved”, and “Rejected”, among others. Asset Health Report Group You can define groups according to the needs of your organization and then apply the groups to reports for the purpose of grouping and filtering them. Assigning asset health report groups is optional. Asset Health Report Status An asset health report status determines what can and cannot be done to an asset health report, such as allowing the report to be printed, deleted, marked as complete, or regenerated. Asset health report statuses must be defined before they can be assigned to an asset health report event. Asset Health Report Type You can define report types according to the needs of your organization and then apply the types to reports for the purpose of grouping and filtering them. Assigning asset health report types is optional. Global Variable Global variables are pre-assigned a value and are available for all sites. For example, a global variable named “Monthly service cost” with a value of 175.00 can be multiplied by the number of times each asset was sent for service. Global variables can be defined at the enterprise level by an administrator, or they can be created in an asset health calculation.
