Tasks Involved in Asset Health Monitoring

Monitoring asset health involves several tasks, including defining and maintaining asset health parameters, conditions, calculations and variables, and report definitions.

Set Up Asset Health

Before you can begin analyzing asset health, you must define administration settings and optionally set up scheduled actions to generate asset health reports. When setting up asset health tracking (or after it is in practice), you might need to update asset health assets to control the automatic selection of qualifying assets for a report. For more information, see Asset Health Monitoring Settings.

Create an Asset Health Report Definition

An asset health report definition specifies the selection criteria for assets included in the report, the calculations to apply to the assets in order to produce readings and asset health indexes, and the frequency with which the report is generated.
For more information about asset health report definitions, see:

Create Asset Health Calculations and Calculation Variables

Asset health report calculations automate the process of requesting and selecting qualifying assets for asset health analysis. These calculations also assign asset health indexes to assets and groups of assets. Each calculation can include multiple calculation variables. Asset health calculation variables can simplify the calculations by using generic rules on asset health assets for a given asset health report. For more information, see:

View Asset Health Information

You can view asset health information from multiple sources. For more information, see:

Add or Change Information

You can add or change which assets are used in asset health report definitions. You can also change the schedule for auto-generated asset health reporting. For more information, see:
