Format to use

The format to use for the document numbers. The format determines the number of digits in the document number and whether or not the number should be padded with zeros. Document numbers must be unique for objects within each site. The maximum number of digits in a document number is eight. For example, a format that says “%.6u” would generate six-digit numbers padded with zeros: 001234. • % indicates the start of the number definition. • .6 indicates that the numbers should have six digits. Numbers with less than six digits will be padded with zeros. • u indicates that the number is an unsigned integer (that is, it cannot be a negative number). You can also add a site-specific prefix or suffix to ensure that document numbers are unique across the whole enterprise. Enter a prefix before the % sign. Enter a suffix at the end of the format. For example, you could add the letter “R” as a prefix to refer to the site that owns the object, such as R-001234. In this example, you would enter a format that says: R-%.6u, where R- is the prefix.

Next Number

The next consecutive number for the document. APM enters this number automatically and will check all used numbers to fill in any blanks in the series.

Use results of previous copy, if available

When selected, APM uses the mappings from the previous copy. If this setting is not selected, previous mappings are disregarded and suggested mappings are based on the other settings only.

Only map assets that are at the same level of the hierarchy

When this option is selected, APM limits the suggested mappings to assets that are at the same relative level in their hierarchy structure as the source asset. If this setting is not selected, the asset hierarchy is not considered in the mappings. Assets from different levels and sections of the hierarchies can be mapped.

Use Trigram matching if an exact match does not exist

Select this option if the string attributes that you have selected for smart matching might not match the target values exactly. Trigram searching is useful for identifying near matches when the exact syntax or spelling of the target object is not precisely known. If you select this option, select an attribute to use and a threshold value, if appropriate.

Attribute to use

Select one of the string attributes that you selected for smart mapping (listed in the Properties table). For example, if you select the Title attribute, the Trigram process will search the candidates for objects with Titles that match or nearly match the source object’s Title.

Threshold

You can specify a cut-off point for Trigram matching. For example, if the threshold is 0.5, any objects that return a score lower than 0.5 will not be presented as possible matches.

Process Later

If this option is selected at the site level, failure mode copy requests are set to process later by default. The copy request is saved with the status “Process pending”. The user can later open the request to resume defining it or create a scheduled action (Process Failure Mode Copies) to perform the copies for all pending requests.

Assets

Select the default mapping option to be suggested if APM cannot identify a matching target. The options are: • Exclude – the source asset is excluded from the copy, as well as any failure modes, indicators, and standard tasks and jobs that refer to it • Map to primary target asset – the source asset is mapped to the target asset selected as the starting point for the structure • New – a copy of the source asset is created when the copy request is processed. The appropriate indicators, standard tasks, and standard jobs are created on the new asset • Same – the source asset is used as the target. The source object’s existing objects are referenced on the target failure modes. For example, the indicators identified on the source are also referenced on the new failure mode. • To be determined – the user determines the mapping method in the wizard
