Replenishment policy

Replenishment Point

The replenishment point for this item. When the number of available warehouse items falls to this level or lower, then a replenishment demand is created. The replenishment point should include enough stock to satisfy the demand during the lead time required to receive more stock.

Replenishment Quantity Type

This box shows how you want to replenish the stock: with a Fixed Quantity or to a Maximum Level. Fixed Quantity: The replenishment demand will always request the same number of items or multiples of the number if required to push the available balance above the replenishment point. Maximum Level: The replenishment demand will calculate how many items to order to reach the maximum stock level.

Replenishment Quantity

The replenishment quantity. This information is used to determine the required quantity on a replenishment demand. If you have selected Fixed Quantity as the replenishment type, enter the number of items to order. If you have selected Maximum Level as the replenishment type, enter the maximum stock level for this item.

Average monthly demand

If you are replenishing to a maximum level, enter the average quantity of this item that is used each month. Average monthly demand represents an average of the total usage over a predetermined and constant number of months. This would typically be an average of the last three or six months. APM uses this information to calculate how much stock to order if you select Maximum Level as the replenishment type. However, if the warehouse item can be reserved, the average monthly demand is not used in replenishment calculations. The reserved demand is used instead.
