Lining support If the asset has lining properties, lining life can be tracked with indicator readings and a life adjustment factor. See Also Lining life Designed life span of the lining, typically measured in years. See Also Lining life start Date on which the lining was installed. See Also Lining condition Condition of the asset lining at the time of inspection. If appropriate, the condition’s life adjustment factor is applied to the asset to adjust the lining’s remaining life and calculate the end of lining life. See Also As of Date on which the life adjustment factor takes affect. See Also Life adjustment factor A life adjustment factor is a portion of an asset’s by-design life span, for example, one tenth of its original estimated life. Typically, a life adjustment factor is used to estimate asset lining’s remaining life based on its condition at the time of inspection. This information is used to track the asset’s degradation. The maximum value is 1.0. For example, a factor of 0.5 represents half the lining life. See Also Adjusted remaining life APM calculates the lining’s remaining life based on the by-design life span, life adjustment factor, and the dates specified. See Also Lining life end APM calculates the projected end of lining life using the by-design life span, start date, and life adjustment factor.
