Site types define how objects such as assets and task templates are owned at each level of the site hierarchy. Select the site type that matches the object ownership settings required for the site. In most cases, all sites at the same level in the site hierarchy have the same site type.

Hierarchy code

A hierarchy code is a string of up to 10 letters and numbers that identifies an individual asset or site. APM uses the hierarchy code for the asset, its parent assets, and the site to create the hierarchy location. For the hierarchy location to be useful, enter a code that gives users some indication of the asset’s function and location. For example, if a generator set is located on the north side of the plant, you might enter “NGenSet”. If the generator set has a pump location, you might enter “PmpStation” on the component location asset, and “Pump1” on the record for the pump component asset.

Hierarchy location

A hierarchy location is a string of letters and numbers that identifies where the asset is in the physical hierarchy. APM constructs a full hierarchy location using the code that you enter in the Hierarchy code box joined with the hierarchy codes for its parent/ancestors. The codes are separated by a period (.). Hierarchy locations are updated whenever the asset or one of its ancestors is moved within the hierarchy (or if a hierarchy code changes).

Location

Describe the physical location of the asset or site.

Map coordinates

The longitude and latitude coordinates of the physical location of the object. Note: Latitude can have values ranging from -090.000 to +090.000. Longitude values can be from -180.000 to +180.000. For values outside these ranges, APM will accept the values and adjust accordingly. For example, a longitude value of +200.0 will translate to -160.0 on the map.

Status

Asset status represents the operational state of an asset and whether or not it is available for use. APM uses the status of an asset to determine whether or not work is triggered and whether or not components are available for installation. Sites can also use statuses, but these statuses are specific to sites and cannot be used for assets. Status is particularly important for components because it reflects a component’s repair and availability status. For example, when a component is out of service, the status can also indicate whether the component is a spare and available for use, is in the shop for repair, is out for vendor repair, or has been scrapped. When you change the status of a parent asset, the statuses of its children are also changed (provided the previous statuses of the assets were the same).

Currency

The currency used at this site. By default this is the enterprise currency. If appropriate, you can change the site currency by clicking Change. Usually you will select the currency of the country where the site is located.

Time zone

The time zone at this site. By default this is the top site’s time zone. If the Time zone field is blank, APM looks up the site hierarchy to find the first site with a time zone. If the Site Time Zones feature is enabled, you can open an existing site’s Properties dialog and click Change to assign a different site time zone.

Value list control

If you are using site-specific value lists (for example, asset types or maintenance groups), the value list control determines either the site where all value lists are maintained or the value lists that are maintained at the current site.

Street or Office/area

Street name and number or the office area.

City	The city where the address is located. You can enter up to 50 characters.

State or province

The state or province where the address is located. Once you have selected the country, only states or provinces located in that country appear in the list.

Country

The country where the address is located.

Postal code

The postal code or zip code for this address. If a mask has been created for the postal code or zip code, you do not need to format the code. APM automatically enters any spaces or hyphens necessary. As well, APM warns you if you enter a code that does not match the format for the country where the address is located.

Number

The telephone number for this person. You can enter up to 15 characters. If a telephone number mask has been created for the appropriate country, you do not have to enter any formatting characters such as brackets or dashes. APM will automatically format the number correctly.

Extension

The extension for this phone number. You can enter up to 6 characters.

Remote computing

This module allows you to use APM Remote to access and gather asset information from disconnected work sites.

Locality

The locality where the site is located. The locality is used to determine what taxes may apply to supplier resources created for the site. Note: In order for taxes to be computed correctly on purchase orders, the applicable locality, state or province, and country must be set for each site.

The file path of the image (where the image file is located on the network).

CMMS uses same site ID

Select this option if the organization name is the same as your site name in your CMMS. To enter a different organization name, clear this option.

Site ID

The identification name or number that is used to map the APM site in the CMMS.

Organization

Enter the name of the organization in your CMMS. This box is only available for editing if the CMMS uses same site ID option is cleared.

4D Analytics ID

Identifier for the APM site to be used in the 4D Analytics system and in the readings that are ingested into that system. You can enter the Site Name or any other unique identifier for the site.

Name of the connection definition in APM that records the server, Influx database, and authentication information. Each site that uses 4D Analytics should have its own connection.
