Cost Type

Charge Type

Select how you want to charge this portion of the value of the invoice line: • Work Order: You can select a work order to charge for the costs of this invoice line. For example, you can select this type if the material is being used for a specific job. The work order’s asset to charge and GL accounts are also charged. • Asset: You can select an asset to charge for the costs of this invoice line. For example, you can select this type if the part was ordered to fix a maintainable asset. The asset’s GL account is also charged. • Warehouse: You can select a warehouse to charge for the costs of this invoice line. For example, you can select this type if the items were not purchased for a specific job but will be kept in stock until needed. The warehouse’s GL account is also charged. • Account: You can select a GL account to charge for the costs of this invoice line.

Component or Location

If you have selected a component location as the asset to charge, you can switch to the component installed in the location by selecting Component. If you have selected a component as the asset to charge, you can switch to the component’s location by selecting Location.

Select the warehouse that you want to charge with this portion of the value of the invoice line. For example, if the items were not purchased for a specific job but will be kept in stock until needed, you might want to charge the invoice line to that warehouse. The warehouse’s GL account is also charged.

Select the GL account that you want to charge with this portion of the value of the invoice line. You must select a whole account number; you cannot select a segment.

Select this option if you want to override the GL account shown here. If your settings allow you to override the default general ledger accounts, you can enter another GL account for this invoice line distribution.
