Alarm Type The current severity of the alarm for the indicator. See Also Rate type to use The rate used to calculate degradation rates for the indicator. The available rate types are defined on the indicator type. Possible options are: • Asset design rate: Expected yearly degradation rate of the asset as designed (for example, 0.09 mm / year). • Short-term rate: The difference between the previous reading and the current reading. For the first reading, the value is compared to the asset’s design rate. • Long-term rate: The difference between the first reading and the current reading. • Custom rate: You can define a up to three custom calculations in the Customization Center and then assign them to indicator types. For example, you might use linear regression to calculate degradation. • Indicator rate: If the degradation parameters differ from the asset design at a specific measurement location, the parameters are entered on the indicator. The resulting calculation is known as the indicator rate. • Inspector rate: Rate entered by an inspector and based on the inspector’s observation. Note: The person performing a risk-based inspection analysis can enter a selected rate and apply it to indicators on the failure mode. The indicator’s selected rate type changes to “Inspector”. An inspector can change this rate on the indicator, independent of an RBI analysis. See Also
