Work Order Status

The current status of the work order. At various stages in the life cycle, APM may assign the following statuses to a task or work order: New, Work Started, Closed. Work planners may also select an appropriate status for the task or work order: Needs (More) Planning, In Planning, Planned, or Work Started. Each task on a work order may have a different status. When work order tasks have different statuses, the work order will show the earliest status of its tasks. For example, if task 1 has a Work Started status, but task 2 has an In Planning status, the work order status will be In Planning.

The title of the work order task. APM uses the title of the first task on a work order as the work order title.

Asset to Work On

The name and number of the asset that needs maintenance. If your organization includes multiple sites, the asset to work on and the work order task must be owned by the same site.

Hierarchy location

A hierarchy location is a string of letters and numbers that identifies where the asset is in the physical hierarchy. APM constructs a full hierarchy location using the code that you enter in the Hierarchy code box joined with the hierarchy codes for its parent/ancestors. The codes are separated by a period (.). Hierarchy locations are updated whenever the asset or one of its ancestors is moved within the hierarchy (or if a hierarchy code changes).

Reason

The reason that was selected for holding this work order task. The reason determines which actions can be performed on the task while the hold is in effect.

This box is selected if the hold is currently in effect for the task.

Release on

The date and time that the hold will be released. Note: The actual date and time that the hold will be released also depends on the frequency at which the Release Held Work Order Tasks scheduled action is run. Check with your system administrator for details.

When this option is selected, the work order task hold will be released at a specific date and time. If this option is selected, only the hold creator can change or manually release this hold, except for employees with special authority to release any task hold.

Comment

The comment for the hold. The hold comment is displayed on warning and error messages issued as a result of the hold. For example, for with a Report Activity setting of “allowed with warning”, the comment is displayed on warning messages when users try to report activity for the task.
