Base cost
The estimated base cost of the demand. APM automatically calculates this cost based on the unit price and quantity of the resources needed for the work order or requisition.

Total cost
The estimated total cost of the demand. APM automatically calculates this cost based on the price and quantity of the resources, plus all extra charges and all non-recoverable taxes.
For example, if demand is for 10 of resource A, with a price of $1.00 each, a non-recoverable tax of 7%, and an extra charge of $1.00 per order line, the estimated total cost would be:
(10 * $1.00) * 1.07 + $1.00 = $11.70
Recoverable taxes are excluded from the estimated total cost. For example, if the tax in the above example were recoverable, the total cost would be:
(10 * $1.00) + $1.00 = $11.00
APM uses the estimated total cost when selecting a preferred supplier for a purchase demand.

Asset to charge
The asset to charge for the costs of this work order task. Each task must have an asset to charge before it can be saved.
If your organization includes multiple sites and the asset to work on is not a component, the asset to charge and the work order task must be owned by the same site.
When the asset to work on is a component, the asset to charge can be a component location owned by any site in the organization. By default, the system sets the asset to charge to the component’s location. If the component is not installed, its last installed location is used. If the component has never been installed, the component is set as the asset to charge.
