Generation Type

The method used to generate PM work orders: ad-hoc or profile. An ad-hoc PM generation means that work orders are created based on criteria you enter manually when you trigger the work orders. Using a PM generation profile means you enter and save the criteria as a profile. When you trigger the work, you select the appropriate profile.

Generation Option

The generation option you have selected as criteria for generating time-based preventive maintenance work orders. There are two options: Horizon Date and Shutdown. Horizon Date: Work orders will be created from time-based standard jobs that are due between now and the date you enter. If more than one work order should be created from a standard job in that time period, the appropriate number of jobs will be created. For example, if a standard job is triggered every week and you enter a horizon date four weeks from now, four work orders based on that standard job will be created. Shutdown: Work orders will be created for standard jobs that are triggered by the planned shutdown you select. In addition, work orders will be created for time-based standard jobs that come due on or before the shutdown date entered.

Horizon Date

The end date for the work orders to be generated. This date tells APM to generate all work orders from all standard jobs that are scheduled to be performed on or before this date.

Shutdown Type

The type of shutdown required by these preventive maintenance work orders. If a shutdown type is selected, APM will generate work orders from standard jobs that are triggered by the shutdown, irrespective of the date entered. APM will generate work orders from standard jobs that are triggered by the shutdown, and also those that are due to be performed on or before the shutdown date.

Shutdown Date and Time

The date and time of the planned shutdown that you are generating work orders for. Work orders will be created for all time-based standard jobs that come due on or before this date, as well as for jobs triggered by the selected shutdown type.

The preventive maintenance generation profile to use to trigger work. A PM generation profile consists of criteria that define which standard jobs you want to use to trigger work orders.

Whether or not the asset type is used to limit the work orders that are generated from standard jobs. You can use the asset type to narrow the of work orders that are generated.

Maintenance Group Rule

The maintenance group rule used to generate the work orders: All maintenance groups or Selected maintenance groups. Select the appropriate option. If you choose Selected maintenance groups, APM only reviews the standard jobs for the maintenance groups you choose.

Work Classification Rule

Whether or not the work classification is used to limit the work orders that are generated from standard jobs. You can use the work classification to narrow the type of work orders that are generated. For example, you could choose to generate only those jobs with the work classification “Summer Shutdown” or “Regular Inspection.”
