Work classification
Work classifications are used to group work order tasks into categories relevant for the site. You can filter or sort lists of tasks according to work classification.
Once work type is assigned to a standard task, only classifications for that type are available for selection. For example, the Corrective work type includes classifications such as Breakdown and Safety.

Frequency
The expected frequency tells the people who plan and schedule the work how often the task should be performed.

Technology
A predictive maintenance (PdM) technology, such as vibration analysis or oil analysis, is used to determine the condition of in-service equipment to predict when maintenance should be performed. This information appears on work order tasks created from this standard task.

Work priority
Work priority describes the urgency of the work and the sequence in which it should be completed. For example, Regular and Emergency or High, Low, and Medium might be priorities defined for the site.

Estimated duration
The approximate length of time that it takes to complete the task. APM uses this information when a task is placed on a schedule.
You can enter an estimated duration, or APM can calculate the duration based on the trade, tool, or time-based service requirements. To enter a duration, clear the Calculate option.

Calculate
The system calculates the task’s estimated duration. APM sets the task’s estimated duration to the trade, tool, or service requirement with the longest total duration (Lag time plus the Required for time).
For example, suppose a task has three trade requirements:

One mechanic: 4 hours, 0 lag (4 hours total)
•
One electrician: 2 hours, 3 hour lag (5 hours total)
•
One mechanic: 2 hours, 5 hour lag (7 hours total)
The third requirement has the longest combined required for and lag time. As a result, when the estimated duration is calculated, the system sets task’s duration to seven hours.
Alternatively, clear the Calculate option to enter the estimated duration.

Operating condition
The operating condition that the asset must be in when the work is performed. For example, if the asset must be shut down in order to perform the work, you would select an operating condition called “shut down.”

Primary trade
If trades have been added to the task, the system selects the first trade added as the primary trade for the task. This reference allows you to sort and filter lists of tasks by primary trade.

Shutdown type
The type of shutdown during which this task is normally used. This setting is copied onto each work order task created (manually or triggered) from this task. You can use this setting to identify work that has been planned for a particular shutdown.

Material is Required
The number of days that all material requirements are needed before the task is planned to start. APM uses this number to calculate a Material Required By date on work order tasks created from this standard task.

Safety critical

Default type assigned to checksheets created from the standard task. A checksheet type can specify that modification and repair inspection is supported for checksheets assigned the type.

Only one open checksheet allowed at a time
This option limits the standard task to having only one open checksheet at one time. This functionality applies to the manual creation of an additional checksheet, not to checksheet generation, split checksheets, or checksheets created from a standard job.

Indicators to include on checksheets and work order tasks
Select one of the options:
•
All indicators on the task – All of the standard task’s indicators are included in the list of indicators to read whenever the task is triggered. This option is handy for repair tasks, for example.
•
Indicators due to be collected before the task’s next expected occurrence – Only indicators that are due to be collected before the next expected triggering of the task are included in the list of indicators to read. This option is handy when the next expected triggering of the task is determined by the standard task’s expected frequency.
When this option is selected, planning lead time is enabled.
•
Indicators due to be collected in the collection horizon period – Only indicators with frequencies within the selected collection horizon are included. If you select this option, specify the collection horizon.
•
Exception based inspection – Only readings that are mandatory, for indicators where the previous reading resulted in an alarm, or for indicators where the alarm on the previous reading was acknowledged with “monitor” or a work document and the document is not closed.

When this option is selected, APM calculates the standard task’s due dates based on either indicator next collection dates or task frequency.

Due date is based on
The task’s due date is based on one of the following:

Due date is based on the task’s indicators – The task’s due date is set to the earliest collection due date of its indicators. The date is recalculated whenever an indicator is added to the task, an indicator is removed from the task, an indicator’s collection date changes, or an indicator’s collection status changes to Active or Inactive
•
Due date is based on the task’s frequency – The task’s due date is calculated by adding the frequency duration to the date when the task was last triggered

When the standard task’s due date arrives, a checksheet or mobile activity is generated, usually by a scheduled action.

When this option is selected, the calculated due date is classified as “pending” and must be manually accepted.

Triggering
You can prevent standard tasks from being triggered unless the asset, site, or both has a designated status. For example, you might want the task to be triggered only if the asset is shut down. This triggering option does not prevent users from manually creating work order tasks from standard tasks.
When the asset or site status changes to one that allows the task to be triggered, APM triggers the standard task on its next planned cycle.
To restrict triggering of the standard task, select Only triggered when the asset and site have the following statuses. Then select the statuses for which triggering is valid.
