Fulfillment method

How the resource demand will be fulfilled. Not all of the following methods will be listed, depending on the type of resource selected. Maintenance: Use for trade requirements that will be assigned to employees or on-site contractors (when the demand is on a work order task). Purchase: Use for trades, materials, tools, or services that need to be purchased. Warehouse Issue: Use for material that will be issued from a warehouse. Warehouse Transfer: Use for materials that will be transferred from one warehouse to another. Tool Issue: Use for tools that will be issued from a warehouse. Equipment Rental: Use for tools and equipment to be rented from an outside supplier.

Number

The total number of items that are required. For example, the number of employees or contractors required for the trade or the number of tools. This setting is only applicable to trades, tools, and time-based service resources.

Required for

The amount of time that each employee, contractor, tool, or service person is required. For example if you are entering a trade requirement, enter how long each employee will need to work on this task. The total time entered for the requirement will be calculated as: Number Of x Required For The default requirement is 1.00 hour. This setting is only applicable to trades, tools, and time-based service resources. Note: For scheduling purposes, one day = 24 hours, regardless of the number and type of shifts included on the schedule.

Requirement

The number of units required for the item. If this box is left blank, an error message will appear. This setting is only applicable to materials, tools, and service resources that don’t use a time-based unit of measure. For time-based resources (trades, tools, and services that are time-based), the Requirement entry is calculated using: Number of x Required for

Unit cost or Rate

The cost per unit for the demand. If you are entering a non-catalog resource, you can enter the unit cost here. If you have selected a supplier resource with a current price, or a warehouse issue, the system enters the unit cost and you cannot change it unless you are a buyer. Since inventory unit costs change over time as you purchase materials, the current unit cost is retained to provide costing stability.

The estimated base cost of the demand. APM automatically calculates this cost based on the unit price and quantity of the resources needed for the work order or requisition.

Relationship type

The relationship of the lag to the start of the task. You can select from: • Start to start (SS): The requirement starts when the task is planned to start, offset by any entered lag time. • Finish to finish (FF): The requirement ends when the task is planned to end. The system automatically calculates the required lag time.

Lag

The lag time that is required between this requirement and the planned start time of the task. For example, if you enter a trade requirement with a lag time of two hours, the planned start time for the trade will be two hours after the planned start time for the task. This setting is used when calculating the estimated duration of the task, and when the task is scheduled.
