Work Order Number

The work order number. APM automatically generates this number to ensure that every work order has a unique number. You can override the default number if necessary. If this box is left blank or if the number is not unique, an error message will appear.

The title of the work order task. APM uses the title of the first task on a work order as the work order title.

Maintenance group

The maintenance group that will perform the task. Select the appropriate maintenance group from the list. For example, you might select a mechanical group, an electrical group, or a preventive maintenance group. APM uses this information to filter and sort lists of tasks for work assignments and scheduling.

Asset to Work On

The name and number of the asset that needs maintenance. If your organization includes multiple sites, the asset to work on and the work order task must be owned by the same site.

Title

The name or short description of this item. You can enter up to 250 characters.

Hierarchy location

A hierarchy location is a string of letters and numbers that identifies where the asset is in the physical hierarchy. APM constructs a full hierarchy location using the code that you enter in the Hierarchy code box joined with the hierarchy codes for its parent/ancestors. The codes are separated by a period (.). Hierarchy locations are updated whenever the asset or one of its ancestors is moved within the hierarchy (or if a hierarchy code changes).
