The name or short description of this item. You can enter up to 250 characters.

Hierarchy location

A hierarchy location is a string of letters and numbers that identifies where the asset is in the physical hierarchy. APM constructs a full hierarchy location using the code that you enter in the Hierarchy code box joined with the hierarchy codes for its parent/ancestors. The codes are separated by a period (.). Hierarchy locations are updated whenever the asset or one of its ancestors is moved within the hierarchy (or if a hierarchy code changes).

Resource

The name of the resource being viewed. APM automatically enters this information, but you can change it if necessary. If this box is left blank, an error message will appear.

A work order task does not exist for the asset you are moving to the repair shop. You can select whether or not to create one now.

Work Order

The work order that the work order task belongs to. All work order tasks must be part of a work order.

Task Number

The task number is added to the end of the work order number. Each task on a work order must have a unique number. APM automatically generates this number. You can override the default number if necessary. If this box is left blank or if the number is not unique, an error message will appear.

Work Order Task Title

The title of the work order task. APM uses the title of the first task on a work order as the work order title.

Work Order Status

The current status of the work order. At various stages in the life cycle, APM may assign the following statuses to a task or work order: New, Work Started, Closed. Work planners may also select an appropriate status for the task or work order: Needs (More) Planning, In Planning, Planned, or Work Started. Each task on a work order may have a different status. When work order tasks have different statuses, the work order will show the earliest status of its tasks. For example, if task 1 has a Work Started status, but task 2 has an In Planning status, the work order status will be In Planning.

Repair Option

The following options are available when you move a serialized unit to the repair shop: • Do not create a work order to repair the asset at this time. The swap is completed. No work order is created. • Yes, please create a work order to repair the asset internally. The swap is completed and a work order is created. The system sets the asset to work on as the removed component. • Yes, please create a work order to repair the asset externally. The swap is completed and a work order is created. The system sets the asset to work on as the removed component. On the Planning tab, the system attempts to create a requirement for a external repair. • Yes, please create a work request to request the repair of this asset. The swap is completed and a work request is created. The system sets the asset to work on as the removed component.

Create Repair Work Order

Select how you want to create the repair work order: • Based on a standard job: Select the standard job on which you want to base the repair work order. Click Browse to search for the job. • Based on a standard task: Select the standard task on which you want to base the repair work order. Click Browse to search for the task. • From scratch: Select this option to create new work order that is not based on a template. Enter a Title and Work type for the new work order.
