Employees

Select whether or not sites of this type can own employee records. Typically, employees are owned by all site types, with the majority of employees owned at the lowest level in the site hierarchy: the operating sites. Employees must be created in the site in which they work, or at a higher-level site if they will work in multiple sites.

Resources

Select whether or not sites of this type can own resources. Resources include materials, tools, trades, and services. Typically, resources are owned at the top-most site so that they need only be added once and are consistent across all sites. However, lower-level sites might also need to own resources if they need to enter materials, tools, trades, or services specific to their sites.

Value Lists

This box indicates whether or not sites of this type can own value lists. A check in the box means sites of this type can create and maintain value lists. Only the top site in the hierarchy can own value lists.

In-Transit Site

When assets are in the process of being transferred (that is, they have not yet been received at the site they are going to), APM transfers ownership of the assets to the in-transit site. Note: The in-transit site is typically the top-level site type (because there can only be one in-transit site).

Select this option to allow sites of this type to own assets. When you select this box, the Asset transfer documents, Work requests, Work orders, Standard jobs, Standard tasks, and PM routes options are automatically selected. It is recommended that these objects be owned by the same types of sites. Except for Asset transfer documents, you can clear any of these options.

Requests for quotations

Select this box to allow sites of this type to own requests for quotation (RFQs). Ownership of RFQs must be at either the same site type where resources are owned, or at a lower-level site type. This is consistent with the general approach that resources are ideally owned and created at higher-level sites. The suppliers referenced on the RFQ must exist at the RFQ’s site or at a parent site. A supplier from a lower-level site cannot be referenced on an RFQ.

Select this box to allow sites of this type to create, modify, and delete supplier resources. Supplier resources are typically set up at lower-level sites, while the suppliers and resources are owned at a higher site.

Resource transactions

When this box is selected, sites of this type are allowed to own resource transactions. Resource transactions include timecards, issues, transfers, transfer receipts, inventory returns, vendor returns, and purchase receipts. This option is automatically selected if the site type is set to own items that create resource transactions, such as employees (time cards) or work orders. If no objects of this type are selected, the Resource transactions option will not be available for selection.

Select this box to allow sites of this type to own transaction entry forms. These forms are used to record resource transactions. Transaction entry forms include time sheets and pick lists. If you select the Warehouse option, this option will automatically be selected. However, you can clear it if necessary.
